EXCITEMENT
As I've said before, many times before, Thirty Seconds to Mars is my favorite band. They're on the front cover of Kerrang magazine this month and they'll be back in the US pretty soon. Let's just say, I'm pretty damn excited! Only one problem... The only show I could possibly drive to is on a Tuesday night and I do go to school. My best friend and I really, really, REALLY want to go, but we would have to miss a day of school and my parents wouldn't go for that. So far, I have perfect attendence for school but, honestly, I would break that to go to see that show.
I'm trying very hard to find a way to make it to one of their shows. I hope I can make it.

Kill Hannah
Last night I went to the Kill Hannah concert at The Note in Westchester, PA. The Moxy opened the show. The concert was great! The Note is a little bar type place with a stage in the back. It has two levels and minors, like me, had to stay up top for most of the night. The good thing about the top level is that you could see the whole stage and you didn't have to worry about only getting pictures of the back of people's head. I'm pretty short so I have to worry about that. I like the upper level because I got some really good pictures.
We got to The Note around 7:30-ish and were in the door by 8. The Moxy went on at around 9:00 and Kill Hannah went on around 10:00. Kill Hannah did a set that lasted about an hour and it was great! Because The Note is such a small place, it was extremely loud. The last song that they played was Lips Like Morphine, my favorite Kill Hannah song. I got most of it on video but my cmera's battery decided not to behave for me.
After the show was over, me and my friends went down to buy t-shirtsand things like that. When we were down there, the band members from both Kill Hannah and The Moxy came out to do signings and pictures. I got my picture taken with all the members of Kill Hannah and the lead singer of The Moxy and the bassist from The Moxy. All and all, it was a great night!!

Busy, busy, busy!!
So my schedule this week has been CRAZY!! Monday I stayed over night at my friend's house, Tuesday we went to Warped Tour, Wendesday was my off day and I still had to do stuff, Thursday(today) I have to go to the doctor's for routine stuff, and Friday I'm going down to the beach with my brother and 3 cousins. We get back Saturday evening and I was invited to a Kill Hannah concert on Sunday. I am never this busy outside of the swimming season, when I have practice/meets every night except Saturdays and Sundays.
On a different note... I saw this picture of Jared Leto being carried by some girl at a concert and thought it was funny. It made me laugh so I thought I'd share!

Van's Warped Tour 2010: INSANE
As I said in my last post, Warped Tour came to Maryland on July 20th(yesterday). I had a great time and got to see most of the bands I wanted to and found a few new ones that I really like! The heat was almost too much to deal with at one point and the threat of a thunder storm lingered all day. Overall, it was a great day!
Let's start from the begining, we got to Merriweather around 9:30 and waited in line for about an hour and a half. While we waited we met some interesting people. Most of them were promoting bands. A few bands really caught my attention- Set Phasers To Stun and Westland. I traded Silly Bandz with one of the guys from Set Phasers to Stun and we met every memeber of Westland and bought their CD. Jacob's Ladder was another band that talked to us. Sammy, bass and vocals, From Jacob's ladder had some crazy hair, but the band is actually really good!
We finally made in into the concert area arounnd 11:00 am. The one band that I wanted to see the most was The Cab. They had already started their set when we got there, so we ran down to the main stage and got some great pictures. I missed their signing... That kind of sucked. after The Cab finished their set, we went to check the rest of the day's lineup. On the way, we met the Bassist from the band The Sunstreak, who got us to buy their CD and a t-shirt. Their CD is very good and I love the lyrics! (Alex Deleon from The Cab, shown below)
We got the lineup and then we went to watch Hey Monday. We were pretty close to the stage and the press enterance so we got to see almost everything. My friend totally freaked out over Jersey, bassist, from Hey Monday. Their set wasn't real long but it was good. After Hey Monday, we went to get water and put sunblock on and all that fun stuff that keeps you alive at all day concerts!
We walked around for a while and found a band that we had never heard of before. They were called We Are The In Crowd and they were great! we watched their whole set and loved it! The band is made up of Tay Jardine (lead singer), Jordan Eckes (gutiar and vocals), Mike Ferri (bassist), Cameron Hurley (guitar) and Rob Chianelli (drums). Later on in the day, I got a poster signed by the whole band. I was most excited that I got a few clear picture of Jordan and the rest of the band. (Shown below)
Suicide Silence played a set right after We Are The In Crowd on a nearby stage, so we went over. That band is a bit scary to begin with, but throw in the giant mosh pit, the screaming people, the circle pit of death and angry lead singer and it was almost surreal. The pit of death was suggested by Mitch Lucker (lead singer). We got caught right in the middle of it. People were throwing punches and screaming, waterbottles were flying and there was a headbanging contest. We got out of there pretty quickly... After that, we watched some of the Dillenger Escape Plan's set and they threw applesauce in to the crowd and we got hit with it.
After more sunblock and another water, we went down to the main stage and watched some band that we didn't know the name of and never found out. We waited for our one friend to go to the meet and greet with We The Kings before their set. while she was meeting them, me and my other friend bought a bunch of stuff that we didn't need...
We The Kings had one of the best sets of the day. They were the last band that we saw and we made it all the way to the front of the crowd. I was smashed againist the gate that divided the stage from the crowd. I was so close to the wall of pseakers that I swear it blew my hair back. Travis Clark (lead singer) totally made the heat worth it. He really knew how to make the crowd go insane! I got alot of great pictures because we were so close to the stage. She Takes Me High was my favorite song that they played and it sounded great!
At the end of the day, me and friends left, dirty, sweaty, tired and looking like we had just left a war zone. My eyeliner had ran down my face and it looked like I had been punched repeatedly in the face. This was the first year I had been to Warped Tour and it was so much fun and I will for sure be going next year!

Warped Tour 2010!
Tomorrow I will be attending the Van's Warped Tour at Merriweather Post Pavilion. I'm super excited because this my first year going and I've wanted to go for a while. I'm going with my best friend and it's supposed to rain...
The line up this year is pretty good, but the bands I want to see the most are The Cab, Four Year Strong, Hey Monday, Never Shout Never, Parkway Drive,The Summerset and All American Rejects. I can't wait for this concert! I'll post pictures and some stuff about the concert.

It's in the Past!
When I checked Facebook this morning, like I do every morning, I noticed that one of the girls that was in my middle school class had posted pictures from middle school. The girl that posted the pictures was not my best friend in middle school, but I kind of miss my old class and her.
Seeing those pictures made me think about how much fun I had with those people. I only stayed in touch with a few people from that class and it was mostly because they were very dramatic, and I wasn't really good friends with all of them. The pictures also made me think about a few lines from a Matchbox Twenty song... "Say goodbye, these days are gone, and we can't keep holding on...". I know that line is a bit negative, saying that you need to let go of old memories, but sometimes we need to move on. It's only natural that we grow up and make new friends. But when we make new friends, we might loose contact with old ones. I myself have loose touch with alot of people that I wish I still talked to.
Sometimes it upsets me that I've lost touch with people, but then I remeber that there is a reason I don't talk to them. Like the girls that were in my middle school class, they were dramatic, fought all the time and rumors spread like wildfire with them. 7th grade was when the drama got really bad. By the end of 8th grade everyone in the class had said at least once "I can't wait to get out of this school!" or "I won't miss any of you! New friends, new school, it'll be great!". Now those same people are commenting on the old pictures saying things like "I miss you SO much!" and "I miss this!". So much for "I won't miss any of you", huh??
I think that the reason these girls are holding on to these pictures and memories for so long is because they might be having issues with their new friends. They're looking at these pictures and wishing they could go back because they don't like the issuses that they are dealing with in their new circle of friends. It's like saying you'll do anything to get something back. When you say that, you're only looking at the good parts about the thing or person you want back in your life. Because you want them back so badly, you forget why they aren't a part of your life anymore. The people in your past are in your past because they weren't meant to make it to your future. So, leave the people in your past in your past, there's a reason they won't make it to your future.
Say goodbye, those days are gone, and you can't keep holding on when all you need is some relief from these hard times...

Room 150
So summer is half way over and I'm starting to get things together to go back to school. I got to a big old school and some parts of it are kind of creepie. Well, I had a dream that I was put into homeroom 150, a small room in the basement of the school for the overflow students. I got lost trying to find this room and had to ask directions. I had never seen the woman that gave me direction before. She walked me to the the small, dark hallway that lead to a left hand turn and a set of stairs. At the bottom of the stairs, there was a right hand turn and the room. I refused to go down to the room and asked the woman who walked me to the hallway to see if I could be moved to another homeroom. The hallway was dark and scary looking. I didn't want to go down the dark stairway because I didn't know if it really lead to the right room and didn't want to get lost down there. Eventually, I made my way down to the right room. The room didn't look like a classroom, it looked more like an old living room. There were only two other girls in the room and the teacher.
The two girls in the room were the only other students in the homeroom with me. I had never seen the 2 girls before. I also didn't know the teacher. Also in the room, there were two paintings, two small couch-like seats and a small TV. Not a normal high school classroom.
First of all, there is no homeroom 150 at my school. I don't even think that there's a room 150 at all. I also don't think that there's an overflow homeroom. I think I had this dream because I'm a little bit nervous about the new school year. I'm not sure if I'm going to have the same classes or lunch time as my friends. This worries me because I hang out with a small group of friends and we are very close.

Beached Whale
Yesterday a humpback whale washed up on shore in Ocean City, Maryland. Earlier in the day, the whale was spotted about 6 miles off shore. The 30 foot dead whale was brought to shore by heavy winds and strong current. Sharks were spotted near the shore when the whale was being pushed closer to the shore. The sharks were attracted by the blood from the whale's body. The whale made it to shore around 5p.m. and drew a large crowd of onlookers. The whale washed up near Fourth street, a very busy area. The whale was hualed away to be buried after a team from the National Aquarium in Baltimore examined the whale to try and determine the cause of the animal's death.
On March 21, 2010, a Fin Whale carcass washed up on a beach in Fenwick Island. Fenwick is not too far from Ocean City. Fin Whales are the second largest type of whale known to man. The one that made its way to Fenwick was 62 feet long and middle aged. The whale was moved from the beach and taken to a state park to be examined and buried.
It's sad to see such a beautiful animal dead on a beach. Even though it is sad, we can learn alot from the whale's body. And we can be sure that the carcass will be disposed of responsibly. It's ok that the whale died because that's the natural way and another whale will take it's place.

Details
So, last night I had a dream that me and a few of my good friends went to Cedar Point park in Ohio. Cedar Point is an amusment park and some of the biggest roller coasters in the United States. I like roller coasters and I've always wanted to go there. At Cedar Point, they have a challenge- ride the four biggest roller coaster in the park in under 1 hour. In my dream, me and my friends completed the challenge in 50 minutes. The dream felt very real and at one point when I was at the top of the biggest coaster, I remeber thinking "just pretend this is a dream". It really was a dream, and it was a bit frightening.
Lately I've been having extremely vivid dreams that I remeber in clear detail. Most of the time, I never have the same dream for more than one night. Because I remeber so much about the dreams, I'm going to start writing them down in as much detail as I can.
On a different note, yesterday, I was left home alone so I decided to jump on my couch. I twisted my ankle and fell face first off of the couch and onto the floor. Sometimes, I wonder if its safe to leave me alone...

Here Comes the Rain... Not Really
Today in Baltimore City, we have hit record breaking tempetures. Right now, it's 101 degrees in my backyard. Yesterday, it was even hotter, 105 degrees by noon. I didn't leave the house and niether did my brother. There has been no rain for almost 4 weeks now and all of the grass is dead.
2009 was the exact opposite. Last year it rained so much here that one of our rain spouts broke. This rain spout ran underground across the yard down into the gutter. When the rain spout broke, all the water that was supposed to go to the gutter collected underground next to a wall in my basement. The basement walls are also the foundation for my house. The pressure from the water and mud built up so much that the wall caved in. About 3 tons of mud fell into my basement and took out the air conditioner, treadmill and electric box. The pool is next to the house on the side where the cave in was. At one point, we had a giant hole in the house, a summer when it won't stop raining, and a large amount of construction workers at my house everyday for 3 months. A few thousand dollars and an entire summer vacation later, the wall is back up, the air conditioner is working and the house is somewhat back to normal.
Now this year, its been too and dry to let my dessert tortoise stay outside. The lack of rain has killed all of the grass in my yard and most of the yards in the neighborhood. I'm going on my second day of not leaving the house because of the heat...

Search the City- Ambulance Chaser
You said just look on the bright side
but the bright side looks black and white
just one more time, can we scale this fence and scream at the city lights?
if we're playing for keeps, you already beat me
now i've come undone just so you could stitch me up
this damage seems to suit you, if i'm going down then you're going down
now i've come undone just so you could stitch me up
this damage seems to suit you, if you're going down
then i'll go down with you
this red wine by poolside, we'll toast to the bitter end and the best mistake of our lives.
they've got a name for you where i come from
you keep making a mess and turning heads and the worst part is you know it
now i've come undone just so you could stitch me up

the haunting, the kind that i never saw coming
are you haunting me?
you're the ghost that's digging my grace
i've got a gut feeling
can anybody hear me?
got a gut feeling that you will be the death of me
if i go down, then you're going down
it's not what you said

King of the Pridelands
Lions are sometimes called "The King of the Jungle". First of all, lions do not live in the jungle. Lions live in the grasslands and savannas in Africa. So I think a better name for lions would be "King of the Grasslands", or "King of the Pridelands", like in the Disney movie The Lion King.
Lions live in packs called "prides". This is common knowledge to most people. The pride is a basically a social system that divides the work between the lionesses. Usually, a pride is made up of about 15 to 20 lions. 10 females, their cubs and three or four male lions that are usually brothers. The lionesses hunt for food while the male lions patrol the borders of the pride's territory.
Lions spend most of their days sleeping and resting. They usually sleep for 16 to 20 hours everyday. The other few hours of the day are spent hunting, grooming and protecting the borders.
Lions seem to have it pretty good! And the male lions have cool manes! I would love to have a mane!

The Youngest You'll Ever Be
"Today is the youngest you'll ever be. Act like it."
I heard my friend say this the other day and I can't find the source of the saying. I would love to know the origin of this quote because I really like it.
