June bugs are those big buges that sort of look like big misqutoes(sp??). They don't bite you, but they are annoying. They get into your house when you open the door or a window then they fly around your lights make huge shadows that make you think that there is a bat in the house. They really are no threat to you, but people still run, screaming, from June bugs. June bugs are called "June bugs". So shouldn't they only come out in June?? Well, its May and we are currently being attacked by June bugs. They are EVERYWHERE. You can't open a window without one of them getting into, or out of, the house. When you try to kill them, they just fly closer to the light on the ceiling.
Personally, I try to catch the June bugs without hurting them so that I can release them back out into the wild(aka, my backyard). I do sort of feel bad for the June bug that's trapt in the house. Think about it, they got in the house because the saw something big, bright and shiny. They fly towards the shiny thing because it looks so pretty to them. Unbeknownst to the June bug, flying to close to that bright, shiny thing could end their life. Now the June bug is trapt inside a house, being drawn towards something that could kill them, and now a human is trying to smash them with a shoe or newpaper or anything else they can throw at it. The poor June bug is now flying around, confused, scared and in danger of being smashed againist a wall or TV screen.
June bugs can't hurt you. They don't bite or sting and they don't want to be hit with your shoe. Next time a June bug gets into your house in May, or any other month that isn't June, help them get back outside. If one gets into your house in June, that doesn't give you permission to kill it. If you were a June bug, you wouldn't want someone to kill you, would you?
