
I saw this picture on the Flashback page of the National Geographic. These are the Kaviagamutes. This was a preformance that the hunters in the tribe did to honor the slain animals and ensure hunting success in the future. The dances were traditionally preformed at feasts that gathered neighboring tribes.
When I saw this picture in the National Geographic, I cut it out and it's now on my bedroom wall. I just thought it was so neat that they would honor the animals that they hunted. The masks look so real they're a little bit scary too...
